Trip to Marietta Republican Women’s group
For bad weather we had a very good turnout of over 30 people at
Monday’s meeting of the Marietta Republican Women’s group. After a
brief introduction we were able to discuss the upcoming primary
election with everyone, and received a lot of encouragement. Many of
those present were also members of the Marietta 9-12 Group that we had met with a month ago. They have been very supportive and
will soon be endorsing a candidate.
Our country must get back to basics. Small businesses are the
economic cornerstones of every community, but government has made it exceedingly difficult to start a small business and work it to
success. This has to change. We need to clear the path for small
business start-up by eliminating the regulations and impediments that
hamstring young entrepreneurs. We also need to help small farmers who want to pass on their farms to their children, and others who want to start farming. Small farms and small businesses were the foundations
of our economy, and should still be. Massive stores, massive farms,
and sending all our manufacturing to low-wage countries is NOT what is
best for Americans. It smacks of collectivism and as we allow our government to grow ever larger, it will continue. Time to turn this train around.
