County Parties Archives

Meigs County Lincoln Day Dinner

Tuesday night I traveled three and a half hours south to Meigs County for their Annual Lincoln Day Dinner at Meigs High School. The event was a huge success for Chairman Warner and the county party; there were over 300 people in attendance. It was a great opportunity to see familiar faces and make some new friends.

Everyone was really happy to see such a great turnout. John Kasich was the keynote speaker, and gave quite an inspiring speech. He really has a great vision for Ohio and I believe he will restore Ohio to her former glory. He needs all our votes for governor.

While talking to people last night I was surprised how many brought up the power plant they lost due to the EPA and its power, which our current representative has ignored. When I was in Meigs County last year, many were excited at the prospect of having some new industry brought into their county. After listening to their frustrations regarding the lack of any progress on their behalf, I am more than ready to do everything I can to stop this nonsense.

It’s time we remove the power arbitrarily given to the EPA by this administration, not to mention other government agencies, and start making our hard-earned dollars work FOR us. As I have promised the good people in Meigs County and throughout the rest of Ohio’s 6th District, I will use common sense while in Washington and make sure that when I support legislation, I support legislation which is beneficial for our district and country.

Next week I will be in Washington, Athens, and Gallia Counties for their Lincoln Day Dinners. I look forward to sharing my ideas for common sense representation with the people of those counties.

Athens County GOP Meeting

Tuesday afternoon Alex Mangie and I took a trip south again, this time to Athens Ohio for the Athens County Republican Executive Committee meeting.  There were over 28 people present, including members of the Ohio University College Republican Club.  I was invited to speak and then answer questions, and was very pleased with our reception. Chairman Couladis and the rest of his executive committee sound like they have allot of great work ahead of them.
